Jolynne, I think a mentorship program could be really be beneficial to YP's.  I think the knowledge transfer that can be offered through a mentor/mentee relationship would really add value to ARMA for young people in the industry.

Attending ARMA's Conference in DC?  Have you heard about the Young Professional's Networking reception on Sunday night?  Promises to be a great time and is being held at Pose Ultra lounge at the Gaylord hotel.

Need to brush up on your Networking skills?  I just read this article about Networking and think it has some great tips, especially on page 2, for ALL people, not just the "shy."

As a young professional, the most important thing to me is to add value to my company and expand the ways traditional records management touches various groups within the business. I see this manifesting itself as expanding roles in Information Governance and Security.

Of course networking, education, CRM certification and the like are all important in my development, but I think the most important thing is to find new needs that my abilities as a RIM professional can help fill. We need to be forward thinking in order to stay relevant.

Welcome to all of our new group members!  If you are new to iConference, you may want to poke around in your "Settings">>"Email" preferences.  You can decide how and when to receive notices of posts, comments, discussion, et al!

Most important to me as a young professional is the networking, collaboration and training opportunities which provide current up-to-date processes and guidelines for successful implementation and maintenance of our Records Management Program!  I work for a small utility, and little staff, so having attainable goals is imperative.  Networking and receiving "real-life" RIM insight and successes will ensure my professional, personal and program growth!

Most important to me as a young professional is growth in my profession through professional development and continued education that is not rooted in the stone ages.  Having reached a particular level of success in my profession at such a young age and at such a fast rate, I often wonder and worry what's next.  I like a challenge and, much like a puppy, if I'm not given challenges and opportunities to move forward I get into mischief :)
