Leadership...are you born as a leader, or is leadership earned or learned?... Jim Dixon with Information Network International presented the ARMA Houston Chapter's August workshop session titled "Developing/fostering Leadership Skills in Others"

Good day all! I'm excited to join in on the discussion in my role as Chairman of the ARMA International Educational Foundation. As you may be aware, the Foundation has adopted an exciting and broad new vision focused on making a positive impact on our global community through supporting research, education and scholarship in records and information management. In order to acheive our lofty vision however, the Foundation is in the process of securing $2M in funding through individual donations, corporate sponsorships and non-profit entity grants over the next two years. A key element of success will be the support of the ARMA leadership - you! Therefore, I invite you to review our vision statement which is posted on the Foundation's Facebook page and offer your comments here in the new Discussion I will open titled "The ARMA International Educational Foundation Vision for The Future". The Board of Trustees and I look forward to your insights and to expanding the already wonderful partnership between ARMA and the Foundation. After all, the future success of our profession is in OUR hands! Thank you in advance for your participation in the dialogue.

Would love to join the group. I'm an active student of leadership, committed to life long learning. Christopher and other group members, had a great opportunity recently to participate in a leadership program hosted through my employer; thought I would pass on a reference. It's Covey's son, program is called Speed of Trust. Common denominator in poor and excellent organizations; trust (low or high). Workshop is very interactive, I've been to quite a few programs over the years, this is one of the better ones I've seen.

Lots of info available out there on the program.

Hi Christopher - nice to meet you here and on Twitter! To answer your question (kinda), leadership is what really excites me, and particularly along the lines of mentorship. Being good at RIM is great, and having achieved a level of personal success is also great, however sharing what I've learned with others and helping them find inspiration to move forward (by tiny or giant steps) is what really thrills me!

Nice to (virtually) meet you all here! I'd love to hear more about what you're all doing in the leadership/leadership training world.

Thanks!
