ACEDS E-Discovery Conference!

We are not a trade show or focus on selling you things, as many e-discovery conferences are and do.

We concentrate on real learning and networking. We’ve run many conferences and gotten hundreds of raves from attendees about how they were enriched. (Read them on our site.) That’s because we provide practical, real-life knowledge and many hours of networking for career connections.

Over 2-1/2 days you will learn practical, hands-on ways to do things correctly from 25 experts on 18 interactive, demonstration-based panels.

Besides our low registration fee, your room at the beautiful, beachfront Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, FL, costs less, for example, than the New York hotel where Legal Tech holds its show.

When you think of the cost savings and fewer headaches that one practice tip or one new contact could give you, our conference is a must-attend event. We offer big discounts for 3 or more, so bring colleagues for their enrichment too.

Here is an overview to go along with the details I attach.

What:   The ACEDS Annual E-Discovery Conference
Where:  Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida (Room rates only $269)
When:   March 23-25, 2011
Why: Great learning and networking. 18 interactive, demonstration-based panels, 25 experts speakers.  Here is a taste of what you learn:

  • Budget, budget, budget -- Winning without breaking the bank
  • Dealing Successfully with the Omnipresent Challenge of Social Media and the Cloud
  • Key ‘Discoveries’ You Must Make to Craft a Successful ESI Collection Plan
  • How to Map Your Data to Win Tough Battles: ‘Know Your Information (KYI)’
  • The Basics of E-Discovery for Beginners and the Not-Fully-Computer-Savvy

Plus, in our Exhibition Hall, you’ll meet vendors of the latest platforms, products and services.
. Please call me if you have questions.

Does anyone have experience with the interaction between an enterprise Exchange envioronment and the features of Outlook 2007 installed on Windows 7. I believe PST's can be fully indexed and searched at the top level to include all subfolders of the PST, but to do this requires the Advanced button be enabled on the Indxing Options dialogue box from Windows 7 Control Panel. I'm a new Windows 7 user and am not sure if the Advanced button is disabled (ghosted) because of a WIndows setting or because of an Exchange setting. I tend to think it's a Windows setting and I am an administrator, but unsure how to enable it. Any ideas?

There are a number of good resources in the ARMA Bookstore on the web page to help you learn more about e-discovery. There are a couple of books for purchase, and a number of articles from the magazine. As a member, you can download pdf versions of the article for free from the website.

Go to the bookstore (www.arma.org/bookstore). Then, do a keyword search on the word 'discovery.' It will pull up a list of books, other media, and magazine articles. Good luck!

This is a subject I'm very interested in and am excited to learn more about.
